Refugio Amazonas
Refugio Amazonas, owned and run by Rainforest Expeditions, is situated in a 200-hectare private reserve within the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve. The 32-bedroom lodge is ideal for soft adventurers and families, as it has a rain forest trail designed especially for children.A stay at the Refugio Amazonas can be spent at the canopy tower for some bird watching. Toucans, parrots, macaws or mixed species canopy flocks may be spotted. Paddle around Lake Condenado and Lake Claylicks on a catamaran to encounter wildlife such a hoatzin, parrots, parakeets, caiman or horned screamers. Cultural activities involve visits to an ethno-botanical trail, a working jungle farm, and a real Brazil nut concession.
