Rekero is ideally located for viewing the Great Migration, when vast herds of wildebeest cross back and forth between Kenya and Tanzania, braving the dangers of rivers, on their circular trek around the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Close to the Talek and Mara rivers in the south of the Masai Mara, Rekero lies in the heart of one of the most game-rich areas the Reserve has to offer, with a remarkable abundance and variety of year-round wildlife and spectacular scenery. Rekero is an intimate, comfortable, and relaxed riverside safari camp in the heart of the African wilderness. Hippos grunt in the pools below, the smell of wild sage drifts through the air and herds of wildebeest and zebra often can be seen from the main deck as they cross the Talek River. This ideal location means that fantastic game viewing can continue, even when relaxing in camp. The friendly and highly skilled camp crew have worked together for many years; together with our internationally recognised guiding team, they create a truly insightful safari experience every time.
