Full Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1
Upon arrival into Reykjavik, after completing immigration and customs formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Sand Hotel where you will stay for one night.

Day 2
After breakfast, you will be collected by your private driver-guide for your transfer northeast to Kerid. Your private guide will stay with you for the next four days. You will have an afternoon Geysir and Gullfoss visit with a tour inside the Lava Caves. After the tour, you will arrive at 360 Hotel where you will stay for the next two nights.
In the evening your guide is available for the Northern Lights trip (weather depending)
Geysir: The research of sinter shows that Geysir has been active for approximately 10,000 years. The oldest accounts of hot springs at Haukadalur date back to 1294, when earthquakes in the area caused significant changes in local neighbouring landscape creating several new hot springs. This usually takes like 30 -40 minutes to walk around in this area.
Gullfoss: Is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. The wide Hvítá rushes southward, and about a kilometer above the falls it turns sharply to the right and flows down into a wide curved three-step “staircase” and then abruptly plunges in two stages (11 meters or 36 feet, and 21 meters or 69 feet) into a crevice 32 meters (105 ft) deep. The crevice, about 20 meters (66 ft) wide and 2.5 kilometers (1.6 mi) in length, extends perpendicular to the flow of the river.
Lava Cave: The total length of the tunnel is an impressive 1360 m (4500 ft), the main tunnel being 900 m (3000 ft) long. The tunnel is up to 30 m wide with headroom up to 10 m high, making it one of the most expansive lava tunnels in Iceland. Near the entrance of the tunnel the ceiling has caved in creating three beautiful columns of light inside the tunnel. At the end of Raufarhólshellir the tunnel branches into three smaller tunnels where magnificent lava falls and formations are clearly visible.

Day 3
After breakfast you will be collected by your private driver/guide for your afternoon tour of Glacier Eyjafjallajokull.
Next you will go on a Snowmobiling tour before visiting the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and black lava beach.
In the evening your guide is available for the Northern Lights trip (weather depending)
Seljalandsfoss waterfall: Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajokull. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.
Snowmobiling. All gear included overalls and caps along with helmets and gloves. ( please bring warm shoes ) Our snowmobiles are two seated touring sleds, so you can pair up if you want and take your companion for a ride or sit and relax (still holding on tight!) at the back. Hand warmers and high windshields ensure greater comfort. Snowmobiles are a wonderful way for anyone to have fun, they don’t require any experience except a valid driver’s license and you’re in control of the ride! The tour it self goes to the glacier cap. We will do a circle up to 1300 meters and back after 1 hour +
We will provide hot drinks after the trip.
Reynisfjara Black Lava Beach: The world-famous Reynisfjara shore, near the village Vik in Myrdalur on Iceland’s South Coast, is widely regarded as the most impressive black-sand beach in Iceland. Reynisfjara is a black pebble beach and features an amazing cliff of regular basalt columns resembling a rocky step pyramid, which is called Hálsanef. Out in the sea are the spectacularly shaped basalt sea stacks Reynisdrangar. The area has a rich birdlife, including puffins, fulmars and guillemots. The waves at Reynisfjara are especially strong and unpredictable, and fatal accidents have occurred at this beach, so people are advised to take extra care when visiting the area. According to folklore, two trolls attempted to drag a ship to land but were turned to stone as daylight broke, turning them into the Reynisdrangar stacks, clearly visible from the beach.
Skogafoss: The Skogafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 25 meters (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area, Þrasi Þórólfsson, buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall. The legend continues that locals found the chest years later, but were only able to grasp the ring on the side of the chest before it disappeared again. The ring was allegedly given to the local church. The old church door ring is now in a museum, though whether it gives any credence to the folklore is debatable.

Day 4
After breakfast you will be collected by your private driver/guide to transfer back to Reykjavik. In the afternoon you will visit Iceland’s most popular attraction, the Blue Lagoon. Blue Lagoon is a natural geothermal spa surrounded by lava field and black sandy beaches. Have “the swim of your life” enjoying the comfort of the warm lagoon water.
You will then continue on to do some Reykjavik sightseeing with your guide before concluding at the Borg Hotel where you will spend the next four nights.

Day 5
Today will be yours at leisure to learn about special traditions and Icelandic folklore related to magical Iceland.

Day 6
In the morning you will be collected for your Icelandic horse tour followed by your Arctic Buggy adventure.
Icelandic horses: The Icelandic horses are often called ponies and have been a part of the Icelanders life since the Viking age. The Icelandic horse is known for its 5 different gaits. The extra gait is used when the horse is riding fast and it may feel strange at first but some say it feels like sitting at home on a sofa.
Arctic Buggy Safari is a unique and different way to explore Reykjavík and Icelandic nature in a whole different way. Joining this tour is a great way to spend the day as you get in touch with real Icelandic nature. We are proud to welcome you to drive one of our brand new 4×4 2015 buggy’s , they are all equipped with automatic transmission, 800 cc Rotax V-Twin engine, roll cage, safety belts and the double A-arm front suspension which is going to make your ride comfortable and safe.
