Within easy reach of your hotel, the V&A Waterfront offers world class shopping and entertainment opportunities such as diving at the Two Oceans Aquarium, the SA Maritime Museum, clay pigeon shooting cruise with Tigger 2, harbor cruise or a sundowner cruise, helicopter flip, and more. Sit in one of the relaxed bars that line the Victoria Waterfront and listen to the numerous languages and dialects that fill the air. Sample the delightful cuisine, and discover a sensational blend of flavors as diverse as its cosmopolitan influences.

Walk past loud blubbery seals sunning on the pier and take the ferry to Robben Island to visit former South Africa president, Nelson Mandela’s prison cell. Go on a township tour to experience traditional “Cape Flats” life and African culture and cuisine.

Catch the “Hop-on-Hop-Off” bus to the cable way for a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, or if you are feeling energetic, and want to stretch your legs, you could take one of the hiking trails up and come down by Cable Car.

No matter how you choose to experience Cape Town, the Mother City’s unique embrace promises to hold you in her clenches for years to come.

First and foremost Franschhoek is about food and wine – and lots of it! The number of top rated restaurants together with the excellent boutique wine farms of the Franschhoek Valley makes this the most perfect place to visit in all of South Africa for food and wine lovers. In addition to the Franschhoek Wine Valley, the Stellenbosch and Paarl wine routes are both within a scenic half an hour’s drive of Franschhoek offering an even wider choice. The wine routes are easy to navigate, however, we can easily arrange a guided wine and cellar tour on your behalf should you prefer.

Franschhoek is a very famous, charming town, encircled by mountains and offering a range of shops for all interest including numerous award winning restaurants and boutique wine farms, art galleries, jewelry shops, the Huguenot museum and historical sites.

Many return guests have decided to make the beautiful town of Franschhoek their "home base" and travel to some of the other well known areas of the fairest cape during the day such as: day visit to one of the beaches – Hermanus or Gordon’s Bay.

For the more adventurous, try the wine tasting tour on horseback, horse riding in the mountains, rent a bicycle to cycle through the charming village of Franschhoek and hiking in the mountains.

Day 7

Enjoy two full days of activities at Shumabalala Game Lodge. A typical day in the bush starts off at around 5:30 am (depending on the time of year) with a wake-up call by your ranger. Enjoy early morning tea/coffee before you set off on your game adventure for the day. An informative and professional game drive with the excitement of tracking the game. The adventure continues and you return back to camp at around 9:30 am to freshen up. This is followed by a sumptuous brunch with a choice of continental and hot breakfast.

Following brunch the possibility of a bush walk lures the more adventurous or young at heart offering unexpected insight and knowledge of the eco-system to learn more about the fauna & flora unique to the area. You then have time to rest or relax at the pool, browse the curio shop, visit the library or sit on your private or the lodge deck enjoying the sounds and smells unique to the African bushveld. You are most likely to encounter wild animals browsing the camp grounds or a herd of elephants at the water hole directly in front of the lodge. This is also a unique time for bird lovers to indulge their passion in the abundance of the species found.

Afternoon high tea is a time to interact with other guests and is served at around 3:30pm with a selection salty and sweet treats. Afterwards, set off on your afternoon & evening game drive adventure with a stop-over in the bush for sundowners watching the splendor of the African sun setting over the mountains. Drinks are accompanied by snacks and some South African specialties.

You return after dark to be welcomed with a drink at the lodge at around 7:30 pm to freshen up for the evening's events. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks at the bar or in the underground cellar. Dinner is a five course affair prepared by an in-house chef with fresh ingredients. Dinner is served at various settings – around the fire, by candle light in the dining room, on the lodge deck, in the underground cellar or even in your suite for a more romantic affair!
